Civil steps to take in the event of a new born.

The following are the steps to take in an event of a new baby:

1. Take the Birth Notification from the Hospital

2. Get the Birth Certificate from Civil Affairs Office (Al-Ahwal Al-Madaniyya) by taking the following steps:

(a) Log on http://eservices.moi.gov.sa

(b) Select Appointment Services from the left of the window. Provide your Iqama number and Date of Birth to Login

(c) Fill the Appointment Form online with the aid of an Arab, and then print the Form.

(d) Fill and print Form 87 which can be obtained from www.moi.gov.sa with the aid of an Arab

(e) Go to Civil Affairs office (search google for 26°12'23.70"N 50°12'22.55"E and view the first result on Google Maps) with the following documents:

  • Printed Form 87,
  • Printed Appointment Form,
  • Original and photocopy of Parents' Iqama,
  • Original and photocopy of Parents' International Passports and
  • Birth Notification from the Hospital.

Try to go to the office early in the morning (about 7:45 am), show your appointment form at the reception and collect a token. Once your number appears on the display, show all your documents and collect the Birth Certificate. Note that the Birth Notification will not be returned to you.

(f) You will need to pay a fine of SAR 50 if you go to Civil Affairs office later than 30 days after the birth of the child.

3.  Go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (search google for 26°22'18.90"N 50° 7'25.75"E and view the first result on Google Maps) to endorse the birth certificate

4.   Get the Child's International Passport

5. Apply for the Child's Iqama in the Passport Office, Level 6, Building 21, KFUPM.
