VISA Processing Requirements - Outdated. Need Revision

CONGRATULATION!!!
The Nigeria community in KFUPM congratulates you on your admission / employment offer at KFUPM. May Allah put His blessing on the admission / employment offer.

NEED FOR VISA
To enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to commence your study/work, a visa is required and this is usually sent directly to your chosen Saudi Consulates in Nigeria (Abuja or Kano). Then you will be notified by the personnel office at KFUPM to proceed to your visa stamping in that particular Consulate.

In this process of obtaining the visa onto your travelling passport, you might find the following information and/or personnels to be of modest help to you:

VISA STAMPING AGENT AND SAUDI CONSULATES
The Saudi Consulates no longer deal directly with visa applicants*. You are to employ the services of any approved agents (see the names and mobile numbers of contact persons below) to consult the Saudi Consulates on your behalf. These agents charge negotiable fees for the service, depending on your visa type.

  1. Khandahar- 08069734664
  2. Ibrahim- 08062540692
  3. Tijani- 08033174139

BEFORE GOING TO AN AGENT
Before going to an agent for your visa stamping, some authenticated documents and certificate of medical fitness, amongst others, are required (see below for the list of the documents). The document authentication with official stamp or seal is done at relevant ministries, government agencies or parastatals in Abuja at stipulated fees.

Required Documents

  • International Passport (with at least 6 months validity)
  • WAEC/NECO, BSc/BTech/B.Eng and MS certificates- Authentication is done at the Ministry of Education, Federal Secretariat, Abuja.
  • Certificate of Medical fitness

The Certificate of Medical fitness can only be accepted from two designated hospitals. One of them is Dr. Hasan’s Hospital and Diagnostic Center located at No. 5 Iller crescent, off Katsina Ala Crescent, Maitama, Abuja. The fee is fixed at N9,500. (You need to obtain certain number from your agent which you will present at the hospital before the hospital staff can attend to you)

The agent can collect the report on behalf of the applicant. Ensure that you visit the hospital with your international passport for verification purpose since the report will bear your passport number.

However, Saudi consulate in Kano accepts medical report from any hospital but it requires authentication contrary to that of Dr. Hasan’s hospital where no authentication is needed - Authentication is done at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja.

  • Police Report clearing you from any criminal records, obtainable at Police Registry (Central Criminal Registry) Alagbon, Ikoyi, Lagos or CID Garki, Abuja-Authentication is done at the ministry of foreign affair Abuja

For returnee, a police clearance report from Saudi is required in which case, the Nigerian Police report is not necessary

  • Visa Notification Letter sent to you from KFUPM-No authentication required
  • Contract Letter sent to you from KFUPM- No authentication required.
  • Marriage Certificate (if applicable)-Authentication is done at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja
  • Yellow Card, obtained from the Ministry of Health or at the airport after obtaining the immunization - NO authentication is required

Medical Tests that will be conducted on you
The medical examinations include, but not be limited to, the following tests:

  • Chest X-ray
  • Tuberculosis
  • Stool and Urine tests
  • HIV
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Malaria
  • Asthma
  • Blood Group and genotype

NOTE

* Note that students applying for visa stamping at the embassy might be required to do the submission of all required documents and collection of stamped visa in person and not through the agent. This is at the discretion of the current consular at the time of application.

CAUTION!

It is imperative to emphasize here that the visa applicant undergoing the medical test should be honest in reporting the test results as a repeat test will be conducted on your arrival at KFUPM before he is issued a residence permit (iqama). If it is discovered that the result of the test conducted here contradicts the one reported by the applicant, giving the impression that the latter has been falsified, especially on HIV, HEPATITIS B and Tuberculosis, you will be asked to return to your home country. Besides costing you resources and effort, it also puts a question mark on your integrity and the image of our beloved country.

RELIEF AND ADVICE!
It has been discovered that HEPATITIS B can be managed if the right drugs and treatment are administered. Therefore, if your result returns positive for HEPATITIS B, you can ask your admission to be deferred for one or two semesters while you manage the infection during the period of deferment. With the correct drug, prayer and faith, Allah may cure you of it.

Also, since the medical screening has been centralized in Nigeria to be taking place at Al-Hassan Hospital, it can be advised that you undergo these tests at your local town to be rest assured of your medical status before proceeding to Al-Hassan Hospital in Abuja. This timely knowledge of your medical status can save your time and make you negotiate for admission deferment while treating yourself in the case of a treatable ailment.

JUST A MODEST EFFORT
Here, we present the general requirements and we encourage individual to make further inquiry from the agent and at the Saudi Consulate, Abuja. May Allah in His infinite mercy make things easy for you and make your journey to KFUPM a smooth one, Aamin.
